Sometimes I chortled whenever I see things that are not meant to be. It gives me emotional perturbation and put me in a state of discombobulation.! It is so much disheartened, that people occupying the intellectual class in Nigeria are nothing but educated mediocre with crippled intellect. The intellectual class ought to be a movement to challenge the political class before their penurious and parsimonious masturbation of the nations wealth.
It is regrettably lugubrious that those we put in power has failed us and will continue because Nigerians are yet to wake up from their slumber. Less privileged intellectuals, political sycophants and vegetable honourables are nothing but a true description of wasteful products. Truth be told, the problems of this country did not erupt all of a sudden but became whole through gradual process. Most of our leaders needs to be flogged with nothing less than 10000 strokes of cane for turning this country to what it is today. Hmmmmmm!!! We talked about those at the corridor of political leadership forgetting those at the corridor of education. Education is our right, not a privilege.
ON THE SAVE UNILAG(11) MASS DEMONSTRATION
These are my viewpoints
(1) Unilag 1 in person of (my friend) FEMI ADEYEYE was rusticated because he wrote an article out of his political consciousness to stand against oppression and intimidation titled
"UNILAG MANAGEMENT: A CONGLOMERATE OF ACADEMIC IGNORAMI" and posted it on facebook.
Truth be told, The rustication was as a result of self prejudice and power intoxication by the Unilag Management. When are we going to do away with power intoxication and power abuse(s)? Someone was rusticated just because He was saying the truth in a society that claims to be constitutionally oriented. I laugh in chinese! In fact, It is audible. To the deaf and visible to the blind that ADEYEYE'S article titled "Unilag management: A conglomerate of academic ignorami" was clearly in accordance with section 39 of the 1999 constitution as at the time he wrote it and up till now. Without doubt and self prejudice, it shows that the management has inherently violated the 1999 constitution. Section 1 proclaim the Supremacy of the constitution- now, is it that bello and his boys are above the law or what? EFCC, I need you guys to come and accompany or escort Bello and his boys to "KIRIKIRI" for violating the constitution, or else, posterity will judge you guys.
IPSO FACTO and IPSO JURE, Section 39(1) of the 1999 constitution goes like this " Every person shall be entitled to freedom of expressions, including freedom to hold opinions and to receive impart without interference. Could he be that freedom of speech has been ejected from Nigerian Constitution? We write in papers, but lacks the will to abide by it. I think we are suffering from what a friend of mine(Adeyeye) described as "PAPER WORK SYNDROME".
After violating the constitution with Smiles on their faces, Unilag Management still have the got to go further and imprisoned the souls of Unilag Students in an A4 paper Titled "INDEMNITY FORM". Are there no common sense persons in the management who can tell "OGBENI" Bello the implication(s) of what he has done? I do have regards for constituted authorities, but if they are trying to misuse their powers, I get mad immediately and erase any regards I have for them with immediate effect(he who keep mute in the face of tyranny is either a coward or a traitor) Hmmmm! Prof. Bello Rahmon, Your days are numbered because no sinner will go unpunished!
(2) based on 1999 constitution as entrenched, right to peaceful assembly and association(section 40): everyone has the constitutional right to peaceful assembly & association. You can assemble freely and associate with others. You may form or belong to a political party, trade union or any other association for the protection of your interests.
Note: the wording above does not provide any room for one to join a secret society or cult.
Unilag management ought to know that peaceful protest against poor welfarism is not a crime nor unconstitutional. The Dead knows we have the right to protest on anything we wish to speak for and or against because it is very constitutional.
Different strokes for different folks. I was shocked and grasped when I heard that protest has been persona non grata in katsina state! Hmmmmmmm!!! If I'm not mistaken, it simply means the great people of katsina state can no longer come together or form a group to speak for their interests. Lolz! What a dehumanising act of jiggery- pokery! In fact, this man ought to be raised on golgotha and died a Jesus death!!! This is nothing but a pure breach of the 1999 constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria.. Have they no conscience at all?
Conclusively, I am calling on the Nigerian Students across the latitude and longitude of the federal republic of Nigeria to come out En mass for the March 6 protest as all Road leads to Unilag on monday. There is no need for anyone to be pusillanimous because the action is completely enshrined in the constitution of Nigeria. Enough is enough! Before I wave goodbye, permit me to retire myself by saying the following:
AUDEAT AD PUGNAM AUDEAT FACERE
(DARE TO STRUGGLE! DARE TO WIN!)
DUM VIVIMUS VIVAMUS
(WHILE WE LIVE, WE SHALL SERVE)!!!
MARCH 6 IS SACROSANCT!
SAVE UNILAG(11)
#OccupyUnilag
Join the movement before they transform this country into what I called "RINGA RINGO ROSES"
