After a long break in 2016,one of Africa's biggest artiste, Davido dropped a five-track EP titled "SON OF MERCY". The body of work featured a diverse set of sounds; Gbagbe oshi rode the patois flow on a well-crafted ragga beat, kudos to shizzi. The international flick with american musician "tinashe" could clearly be recognized as SA house sound. "Maga 2 mugu" with fellow compatriot "Simi", was typical Davido delivering on a the afro-pop sound we had come to love him for. On "Return" Davido did justice to the fuji beat made by Shizzi. The track "Coolest Kid in Africa" showed Davido embracing the trap sound that has taken the world by storm.
Could trap be his way into the international stage, with the rumoured "Pere" ft young thug and rae sraemmund, and the recently announced collaboration with quavo of migos and fellow label mate "dremo".
